Aunt Aggie De's
Eleanor Harren has been making her Aunt Aggie De's pralines for 20 years. She uses an old family recipe and only natural ingredients to make the smoothest, tastiest pralines you will find anywhere.
The praline (originally spelled prasline) is said to be named after the French soldier, diplomat, and sugar industrialist Marshal du Plessis-Praslin (1598-1675), whose cook supposedly invented it at the Chateau of Vaux-le Vicomte. The cook, Clément Lassagne, after retiring from the marshal's service, is said to have founded the Maison de la Praline, a confectioner's shop which still exists in Montargis, south of Paris.
Aunt Aggie De's are made in Sinton, a small town in south Texas. They offer two types of pralines, original creamy and chewy. Try them both. They are a toss up in the fabulous category.
